NN Insurance Services is looking for a motivated, result-oriented and analytical Head of Claims to strengthen the Management Team. Are you prepared and competent to lead a team of technical Claims specialists who will support you in these essential responsibilities? Can you act as a crisis manager in the event of a storm, flooding or hailstorm that has affected a large number of customers? Would you like to help define the medium- and long-term strategy for our Non-Life product portfolio? As a sparring partner, would you like to advise your colleagues’ managers when making strategic decisions? Thanks to your experience with claims, do you like to give input to the product department in the (further) development of products? Then you are probably the Head of Claims we are looking for.

What does your job as a Head of Claims look like?   

  • You supervise and coordinate the activities of the various Claims teams (Auto/Fire/Legal Assistance/Bodily Injury/Technical Support/Auto & Fire experts) so that they can work efficiently and in a positive working environment and promote initiatives and continuous improvement;

  • You develop business rules to ensure that the products are applied in a uniform manner

  • Within the Management Team, you will help determine the company’s strategy in the short, medium and long term;

  • You translate the strategic decisions of the Management Team to your teams;

  • You follow the complex evolutions of the legislation applicable to the field of claims, you translate them to management and the team and you provide technical advice;

  • You participate in steering group meetings with internal and external delegates;

  • You evaluate the team leaders of your various Claims teams on the basis of the strategic objectives and the applicable performance criteria;

  • You identify the training needs needed to improve the expertise and quality of performance within your teams;

  • You monitor the procedures and systems for claims management and promote the necessary optimisations in function of efficient file management and customer satisfaction.

  • You have a master’s degree and 360° experience in claims management;

  • You are a born people manager with an emphasis on team spirit, coaching and employee development;

  • You have experience in team management;

  • You are Dutch-speaking or French-speaking with a very good knowledge of the second national language. You have a good basic knowledge of English;

  • You are independent and resistant to stress;

  • You have analytical thinking and persuasiveness;

  • You are customer-oriented, commercial and flexible;

  • You are proactive, able to make quick decisions;

  • You are solution-oriented and thus contribute to achieving the desired results;

  • You have excellent communication skills and empathy;

  • You have a good knowledge of the Office package.
